The Schmarder Family & More
Hello, and welcome to my genealogy or as they call it in the old country, Ahnenforschung website. This website is a small snippet of some Schmarder family history research I did, mostly in 2000 and 2001. I first put all the info on a CDROM and made copies for family members, but after I started getting heavily into making websites, I added some information here.
The idea was to look for other people related to me. My father's side of the family originated in Bavaria, Germany. Since I understand some German, it was quite easy to do more research. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of information on my mother's family. The name is too common to do much research with. Maybe I'll run across a distant relative that can help me.
Due to putting up this website, I have met several of my distant cousins in Germany, as well as a couple in the US. We have shared information and thus are able to patch together our family histories with better accuracy.
My research is not backed up by documentation, and might be wrong here and there. But it is a try and as I get more information, I can then improve on this.
2012 marks the tenth anniversary of schmarder.com. This week I rebuilt this section of the family website. I improved this section to improve search engine results for people looking for Schmarder, Filleman, Füllemann, Emig, and Koch. Enjoy looking around here and let me know if we are related.
