Hi Dave !

This is Carlos writing to you again to send you the photos I told you. The length of the box is 20 cms x 15 cms in width and 17 cms in height. This is the description for this simple "old school" radio.

The radio was homemade with throwaway materials (found objects) and some of them were bought. The cylinder coil was made with 25 SWG enamelled copper wire. It has 220 turn taped at 110 for the diode, the coil is 4 cms in width and 14 cms long. It works O.K. (some days I can get 4 stations).It has a 47 kohm resistor and a .002 uf capacitor in parallel with the phone connectors. The schematic is very simple and as I always say: I love the design the radios.

presents his Rat Hole Crystal Radio

Hi Dave !

As you can see here, I finally finish "The rathole Project". The box was made with discarded pieces of wood and some found objects. The length of this radio is 17 cms height, 9,5 cms width and 16 cms length. The circuit runs with the diode section of a UAF42 tube (a diode- pentode tube) and a 12 volts DC power supply, it's like your #26 radio.

The only difference is that I didn't put a diode, just the tube. The antenna coil has 110 turns and a tap at 55 turns. You can take a look through the coil, this is a very nice detail I guess (curiosity killed the cat!).

I think I have to adjust some details in a near future. Maybe I'll make a modification in the circuit. I'm sending you a photo of my lab, the real rathole that inspired me in the making of this radio.
