Vance's Mystery Crystal Radio

I have been working on a version of the "MYSTERY CRYSTAL RADIO", thanks to you and Dan Petersen it is a finished product that works great. In my area Winston Salem N.C. I can pick up 4 local stations, and at night when my luck is good a distant station will pop up and surprise me. I use a 35 foot antenna about 30 feet off the ground with good results.

The coil is wound on a 3 1/8 diameter by 2 1/8 inches long with a coat of clear sealer and paint. The coil was wound like the original using 50 turns of # 24 copper wire and 25 turns of # 30 for the secondary. I was able to locate a 500 pf variable capacitor to go across the primary coil. Very soon I hope to add a cat whisker detector stand.

I have enjoyed building this radio and the performance was well worth it. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to display it on your web site.
